Heritage: Tours & History

History

In 1784 a new denomination – The Methodist Episcopal Church – was established by the famous “Christmas Conference” at the original Lovely Lane Meeting House. Grown from John Wesley’s Methodist movement in Great Britain, this was the first Methodist Denomination in the world.

Now, in our Centennial Monument Building, Lovely Lane lives out a Mission of Witness – to tell the story of where we come from, and why it matters today.
